Important Note

This short screen will detect most patients with a LAC and/or APAs. If this test is positive, repeat testing in 12 weeks is recommended to confirm the diagnosis. These tests are affected by coumadin and occassionally heparin. If the patient is anticoagulated, caution must be used in interpreting the results.

Specimen Draw Volume

5.4 mL

Processing Instructions

Draw 2.7 ml in 2 Blue Top tubes. Tube must be filled appropriately to the fill line to ensure accurate results. Centrifuge tube and remove plasma, centrifuge plasma again, and place 1 mL of platelet-poor plasma in 2 aliquot tubes and freeze.

Stability

Stability: Room temp 4 hours, frozen 2 weeks.
