Processing Instructions
High concentrations of gadolinium, iodine, and barium are known to interfere with most metals tests. If gadolinium, iodine, or barium-containing contrast media has been administered, a specimen should not be collected for 96 hours.
Draw a Dark Blue metal free serum tube. Allow sample to clot for 30 minutes, centrifuge, separate serum from cells within 2 hours by carefully pouring serum into an aliquot tube. Do not insert a pipette into the serum to remove from cells. Store and transport refrigerated.
